Welcome

Quealy wines are an adventurous exploration of the most premium, delicious wines on the Mornington Peninsula. They are new styles of wine, employing winemaking and viticulture techniques developed by Kathleen Quealy after her many years of successful winemaking.

Balnarring Vineyard was purchased by the Quealy-McCarthy family in 2004. The vineyard has some of the oldest premium pinot noir on the Mornington Peninsula, and the vines are exclusively used for Quealy Seventeen Rows Pinot Noir. The vineyard also grows the POBBLEBONK blend; Pinot Grigio, Friulano, Chardonnay, Riesling & Muscat Giallo.

Quealy’s second label is Balnarring Vineyard. The wines offer great value, modern in style and still quirky. Their distribution is limited to the Cellar Door, local venues and some restaurants in Melbourne.

The Balnarring Vineyard cellar door is authentic and old fashioned. Walk into the winemaking process, with vintage activity running from March until May, as well as barrel work, blending, bottling, fixing and cleaning at various times. Despite the romance, winery work is 90% cleaning! People who are doing the cleaning happily drop the hose, broom or brush to engage in a winemaking discussion which always includes offering a full wine tasting to visitors.

Balnarring Vineyard Cellar Door is open every day 11am – 5 pm
